Dr. Mae C. Jemison (October 17, 1964 – present)
For day two of Black History Month, we’d like to highlight Dr. Mae C. Jemison, an American Engineer, Physician and a former NASA astronaut. Among her many accomplishments, she was the first African-American woman to be admitted into NASA’s astronaut training program and the first African-American woman to travel into space on board the Endeavour Space Shuttle.
